If you’ve purchased Koala but the Google Play Store won’t let you install it, there are a few things to try.
Check Your Android Version
Google Play won’t let you purchase or install Koala on a device that doesn’t meet the minimum requirements. Koala requires Android 8.1 or later.
To check your Android version:
- Open Settings
- Scroll down and tap About phone (or About device)
- Look for Android version
If your device is running Android 8.0 or earlier, unfortunately Koala won’t run on it.
Clear the Google Play Store Cache
Sometimes the Play Store gets confused. Clearing its cache often fixes installation issues.
- Open Settings
- Go to Apps (or Applications)
- Find and tap Google Play Store
- Tap Storage (or Storage & cache)
- Tap Clear cache
- Try installing Koala again
Restart Your Device
A simple reboot can fix many Play Store glitches:
- Hold down the power button
- Tap Restart
- Once your device is back on, open the Play Store and try again
Check Your Google Account
Make sure the Play Store is using the same Google account you used to purchase Koala:
- Open Google Play Store
- Tap your profile icon (top-right)
- Check which account is active
- If needed, switch to the account you used when purchasing
If All Else Fails
If none of the above works, this is likely a bug with the Google Play Store itself.
- Contact Google Play Support to report the issue — they can sometimes force-refresh your purchase or help diagnose the problem
- Let us know too by getting in touch here — if there’s a widespread issue, we want to know about it so we can contact Google too, to investigate.
Please have your purchase receipt ready when contacting either Google or us.
